Mapping for Niger
2013-10-20 12:45:45 - by Laurence Jenard

Niger : it’s dunes, its rivers, its vast territory. its cultural diversity. its traditions. its abundant youth. its immense heat and its vast rains. Its problems with water (too much or not enough), poverty and corruption. sanitation and hygiene, as well as with its infrastructure.

‘Mapping for Niger’ is a collaborative mapping and social media project of young geographers of the Abdou Moumouni University of Niamey. We aim to share and discuss the realities of our country and to help you discover it as well. But as geographers we also have another goal : to put Niger on the map, literally and figuratively. To help you see not only its dunes and rivers but also the structure of its roads and education and health systems as an example.
